Complete guide: Venezuela Currency Exchange
Updated:
Venezuela does not have one exchange rate for all payment methods. BCV is a bank-market reference, while cash, PayPal balance and dollars via Zelle are negotiated with a counterparty. The calculator checks official dollar and euro rates through DolarApi and shows the provider timestamp; those references do not guarantee availability or an executable price.
The USDT/VES reference comes from VEX Wallet’s public service identified as Binance and p2p_floor. It is a floor indicator, not an individual buy or sell quote: it does not include amount, limits or payment method. It estimates conversions in either direction without assuming USDT = USD. PayPal, Zelle and cash are not offered as current options without a connected verified source; older links still retain their saved rates.
All rates are expressed as bolívares per unit of the selected method. To convert between methods, multiply by the origin rate and divide by the destination rate, then deduct percentage fees and the fixed destination charge. Reverse mode calculates what to pay for a desired net amount. Verify all charges, do not release USDT based on screenshots, and avoid sensitive data: links include the calculation and rates without executing payments.
How it works
- 1Choose origin and destination among currencies with available references. BCV and USDT use their own sources; check the timestamp.
- 2Gross destination amount = amount × origin rate ÷ destination rate.
- 3Net = gross × (1 − fee/100) − fixed charge; reverse mode solves for the origin amount.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Zelle rate the same as BCV?
Not necessarily. Zelle transfers USD between US accounts. The bolívar exchange rate is set by the counterparty, not Zelle.
Do you fetch Binance P2P rates automatically?
Yes: we check the Binance USDT/VES floor reference via VEX Wallet, a third-party provider. It is not an official Binance API or an executable offer for your amount. We show the source timestamp; without recent data it is removed from new options.
Why are PayPal, Zelle and cash not listed?
We do not have a connected verified quote for these methods. We do not substitute BCV, USDT or invented discounts for their prices. Previously shared calculations still use their saved rates.
Is one USDT always one dollar?
It is not a guaranteed equivalence. P2P prices, fees and payment method can change the effective value received.
How often are reference rates updated?
Rates are checked on opening and every two minutes while the page is active, with a one-minute cache. Each provider maintains its own schedule. USDT is blocked after one hour without an update; BCV after four days, with a warning from 36 hours.
Do results change when shared?
The link preserves amount, methods, rates and fees. Recipients can check new references, but shared rates are not automatically replaced.
